Tag: My Essential (Makeup) Kit

I was tagged by heavenlygorgeous, thanks love!

What I got from this tag is that you are to list down your essential/must-have items or items you seem to use on a daily basis.
Now I switch my products around a lot and unlike some of the girls who are really organized and store their go-to makeup items in a compartment of it's own, mine are stored away in their own compartments. For example, foundation in foundation drawer, blush in blush drawer etc.

As such:

Looks kind of messy and cluttered, I know. But I suppose I'm the kind of a person who prefers things in organized mess? If that's even a right term to use. ha!

Still, I managed to pick out the items that I used rather often or I feel is a go-to item.
Some are absolute essentials in the sense that I cannot do my makeup without it. While others are 'if I had a choice out of its category to just pick one, this is what I'll choose' kind of a thing. I hope this analogy is right...

I know, I am so bad at eliminating products that I end up wtih what 17? Is that even legal in this tag?
And as I am typing this, I noticed I've missed out on some rather important items too, e.g. a kabuki brush. Because how else am I going to apply my loose powder without a kabuki. I think all this school work is getting to my brain.
Nonetheless, items I've forgotten to photograph are listed below but marked with an asterisk (*).
I would not be elaborating on all the products since there are quite a few to name already, don't want to turn this tag into too long an entry.

1. 28 Color Palette
2. Cover Girl Lash Blast (Waterproof)
3. MAC Blush in Eversun (Style Warriors Packaging)
4. MAC Powerpoint Liner in Engraved
5. Maybelline Moisture Extreme in Natural Nude
6. MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NW25) - I love the Magical Tannsu one too, they are very similar, but this was more convenient to photograph. Lol!
7. Wet N' Wild Bronzer
8. ELF Eyelash Curler
9. Lumiere Invisi-Veil (setting powder)
10. Bobbi Brown Corrector (Light Peach)
11. MAC's Browset in Show Off
12. Silky Girl O2 Liquid Foundation
13. ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder (Luminance)
14. MAC 129
15. Loewe Cornell random brush - nothing to it, I just use this for my bronzer.
16. ELF Eyeshadow brush - If I am in a hurry this does everything. Lid, crease, outer corner, highlight. 1 brush fits all!
17. Random Liner brush - to set my eyeliner with
*18. Kabuki brush
*19. Urban Decay Primer Potion - how in the world did I even forget this?!

I believe that is it for my outrageous list of essentials. I think a rule needs to be enforced on how many products not to go over. haha!
But regardless, most people have been tagged so I tag everyone else reading this who hasn't done it yet! :D

Haha.. that seems like a long list, and like you, I have all my stuff already grouped and stored in their places so I pull them out from wherever.... maybe I will get to doing this tag later-- keep my fingers crossed I don't beyond 10 items.

@retail_therapy Haha, hopefully! It is quite hard to narrow it all down. It definitely took me awhile to get to this list and it's already as basic as I can go. Lol. Can't wait to see your list (:

Nice one dear! However, i want to ask you if the brow set from Mac is a good product? I am growing my brows and i need to tame it down..wonder if it works.. Smiling

I tried on the gel set thing at the MAC counter, they make my brows look fuller somehow. interesting. but i think i still need to draw my brows for more definition, before using the gel set... and i tried a very blonde shade which my sister said it's so ugly on me... but i like my brows light in tone (at least way way way lighter than my hair color) but 'bushy' / full if you know what I mean.. haha.

I have the brow set too... it's just like a normal one to me.. And the colour wasn't really a good match for my tone... But all's well... Hehehe!!

The 28 neutral palette looks good! Major neutral fan, and I have a hard time picking out which shade to put on everyday even though it'll probably look the same!

@educatedbiatch I would say if you're looking for something to 'hold' your brows down, the browset isn't the best option. I like it mainly because it's so easy to apply, the color matches my hair and isn't too intense or harsh. The gel part of it isn't super duper strong.

@retail_therapy Same. I have to draw my brows in a little before using that because the browset seems to 'color' the brows but not fill in the brows too much. I tried the blonde shade too cause the swatch seemed closest to my hair then, it made me look like I had gold brows or something! haha.

@linnera Ohh, which shade did you get it in? They don't have too many shades of it available, which is a total pity cause I'm afraid to color my hair another shade and not find a match. haha.

@peachesandsha Thats so true. I'll stare at my palette and wonder if I should wear reddish shades or ashy browns. Lol.

@everbluec haha I see. But if you're using loose powder isn't it scary to do it on the bed? Just a curious about it, I don't mean anything negative! haha.

@heavenlygorgeous Haha, no problem, the tag was fun Laughing out loud

Oh.. I got the shade Beguile.. The Ma said that was the shade most suitable for me. The next colour up would be too harsh and indeed true.. Made me look angry.. Hahah!! Ya agree with you on the fact that there wern't that many shades and also that the holding power isn't that great!!! But ya.. It's still ok rite..

HAhaha... I have a stool, I pull it beside my bed and use that as a mini table for my loose makeup stuff... It does sound scary, even my friends and sister mention that to me before... hahaa

@everbluec Ahh I see, if it's on a stool then it's not too bad. I thought it was on the bed itself. Haha. Then the powder would get on the sheets! Lol. But I'm sure it's comfortable doing makeup on the bed, better then standing ): haha.

I do my makeup around my bed too... cos I don't have a dresser.. I just put everything on my bed... and sit on my bed or the floor facing the window to do my MU.

i'm not sure if singapore has kevin beautymaker products. but if there are, can you do a review on the aqua eye concealer? i've been having an internal conflict on whether i should get that or shell out the money for a bobbi brown concealer xD

ithinktheyrelying: Ohh I don't think we have kevin beautymaker products. I can check but I haven't heard of it before. I've only tried the bobbi brown correctors though so I'm not sure about their concealers but I've heard good stuff about it.
