Dior Addict Eau Delice — Summer Eau De-light!

By icyabstract · June 14, 2013 · 0 Comments ·

This Summer, Dior has released a vibrant, playful and feminine-all-around scent —
Addict Eau Delice
.

Fronted by Daphne Groeneveld, she perfectly portrays the fun, flirty and carefree personality of this perfume via the video ads and promo visuals.

If you haven't caught the widely popular video commercial that she stars in, you probably should because it has the personality of Eau Delice spritzed all over it!

Joining the existing range of Addict To Life, Addict Eau Sensuelle and Addict Fraiche, Addict Eau Delice brings to a table a lovely punch of fruity meets floral.

Aiming to charm with light hearted sensuality and playful femininity, Addict Eau Delice is a deliciously fresh fragrance that dances between fruity and floral with an undeniably soft sweet musky note.

The Scent —

Like a chilled drink in hand refreshing a warm and slow summer day, Addict Eau Delice springs to life with a sour-sweet composition brought on by the Cranberries. While the gourmand note (commonly associated with berry scents) is present, it is thankfully not over powering.

The sour zest from the Cranberry notes help to balance the scent, keeping it youthful and playful without threading too much into 'sweet' grounds.

With wear, the scent opens to a soft floral bouquet of Ylang-ylang and Jasmine. While I don't have an accute sense of smell, Jasmine is hardly dominant in the scent.

While the floral notes sound like an elegant shift from the delicious start, my skin tends to cling on to gourmand notes, emphasizing the berries. Hence on me, the soft elegance of florals go unnoticed. Pity.

Though beneath all that light wafts, there lies a gentle musk warming the scent up without making it heavy. I notice that the scent doesn't journey much into the base note of White Musk but rather it discreetly accompanies the evolution of the scent through the day.

For something to be worn in a hot hot heat, that sounds quite welcomed; the last thing you want aside from the heat weighing you down is your perfume smelling overly musky and heavy on you.

Bottle-wise, Addict Eau Delice adopts a fitting key color, RED and wears it bright and bold on the ombre-ed bottle in the same fashion as the other Dior Addict fragrances.

My Thoughts —

On me I can't say I adore the fragrance simply because of the apparent gourmand inclusion (just something with me and berry notes, not my favorite scent) but I like it better than a lot of berry-included perfumes out there.

If anything, this scent is unique to my nose and while it isn't the most complex, it is good enough for some spontaneous fun under the hot summer sun!

While it may not have been a hit with me, it seems like this playful number had flirted with and captured the hearts of many out there so I say give it a chance, give it a whiff.

It could just make you want to prance out of the store with it!
