Hey guys!
About a week ago I had attended a photo shoot in association with Elizabeth Arden. I had been nominated by Pearlin to help model for and feature Elizabeth Arden's Mineral makeup for a magazine advertorial. I was not the only model, there were 4 others though our shooting times were quite spaced out. I must say I was initially quite apprehensive about 'modeling' for something because I have never found myself to be good at modeling. It was never a career option for me, though I have to admit I was always curious about it (wouldn't most be?).
I don't feel I have what it takes to be a model-model so I'm definitely keeping to my Graphic Design careeer path, but it's fun to just attend these sort of events. I haven't seen the end photos so I'm not sure how it looks but I hope that they turn out okay.
Even after this shoot, I don't claim to be a model at all, I'm just modeling (the adj, not the noun) an Elizabeth Arden product. (this sentence is a bit of a dislaimer to ward off hater activity)
I could ramble on and on about this in words but I think a video might be easier to watch. So here's a video talking about the event, what the shoot was about, my experiences, and also a peak into the goodie bag (goodie bag will be dissected in another blog entry - Part 2)
This photoshoot will be on the April Issue of Nuyou Magazine which is said to hit the stands on the 15th or March!
Following that, here are some behind the scenes photos. I'm not going to go into story telling mode so I'll just caption certain photos.

Here is the styling station for makeup, hair and outfit. I arrived a little early so that explains why there is hardly anyone around, though you can see Pearlin standing at the door.

I just had to take this shot, the MUA's stuff laid out. There's more in the case but I didn't get a shot of it.
The following behind the scenes photos are courtesy of Pearlin.

Now you know why clothes fit so well for some models?

Not going to lie, it's actually quite cool having people run to you and fix your clothes/hair.
Next up, some group shots!

We (the models) were not paid for the shoot - not in cash at least! Elizabeth Arden had prepared goodie bags for us as a token of appreciation and here is a preview of what is in mine.

Aside from the goodie bag, I received a complimentary hair-tie and hair pin as well.
Thank you guys for reading and watching!
Remember to check out PART 2 for the break down of the Goodie Bag if you are interested.
Disclaimer:
Was invited to be part of this event. The goodie bag you see is sponsored by Elizabeth Arden as a token of appreciation.
I am not getting paid for this.

got to check it ou. (:

Congratulations on getting this! I'm so glad for you and I'll definitely look out for the shots when the magazine's out.
And I find it so ironic that they use so much M.A.C., Benefit, Dior and Chanel products for Elizabeth Arden!
