Events: Vichy Thermal Spa Water Spray Workshop

By icyabstract · August 16, 2011 · 0 Comments ·

Last week I attended a Vichy workshop aimed at introducing their Thermal Spa Water Spray. It's not a new product but I presume they wish to elaborate more on this core product since the Thermal Spa Water is found in all Vichy products and serves as their main ingredient.

I have given the Thermal Spa Water some mention back in my Vichy Normaderm post, but since this is the main idea of the workshop I shall repeat it, perhaps in more detail this time. This will get wordy because thats the only way to explain but do read if you wish to find out more about this therapeutic Thermal Spa Water.

Thermal Spa Water Backstory (summarised of course!)
The Vichy Thermal Spa Water is obtained from a small town in France called... Vichy! The spa waters there have been known to have therapeutic effects, hence in 1931, a French Physician and Visionaire founded Vichy Laboratoires, a brand dedicated to the health of skin.

The water is considered to be 'living' because it cannot be reproduced by scientific means and cannot be transported abroad, thus it reflects an active ingredient that is natural and pure. Due to that, all Thermal Spa Water harvesting occurs in France and Vichy's products are also made in France to ensure the freshness of the Spa water when it is included to the product.

Vichy Thermal Spa Water is rich in 15 different mineral salts and trace elements. The water has the ability to sooth and protect the skin, ridding redness in a short amount of time.

I don't want this to have too much text so here are some pictures of the event to break up the paragraphs.

We snacked on the food provided while listening to a presentation about the Thermal Spa Water and the lab findings/statistics.

The 3 main points of the Thermal Spa Water is that it soothes, fortifies and regenerates.

The Vichy Thermal Spa Water Spray contains 100% Pure Vichy Thermal Spa Water, I know I'm repeating the sentence but it is named after what it contains. Since the Spa Water is said to be so therapeutic and well-enjoyed, why not have it in it's full, pure form so everyone can enjoy!

The Spa Water can be used on all skintypes be it normal or sensitive. One main factor of it is that it helps reduce redness significantly and in a short amount of time.

Just a run down on the various ingredients in the Thermal Spa Water and how they help with skin conditions.

  • Calcium: protects skin tissue
  • Potassium: helps in hydrating skin cells
  • Silicon: densifying, regenerating
  • Magnesium: stimulates skin regeneration
  • Iron: Helps in oxygenating skin cells
  • Manganese: Combats oxidation and simulates healing.
  • Copper: Has an anti-inflammatory action
  • Zinc: Necessary for cell growth and healing
  • Bromine, Fluorine, Boron, Lithium, Strontium: They also contribute to these very special properties

Feels like chemistry class all over again, but to sum it all up, basically these ingredients help to protect your skin and introduces cell renewal/growth.

The Vichy Thermal Spa Water Spray can be used in many different ways from misting it on to cool yourself down, to setting your makeup and even a relaxing/cooling mask to perk your skin up!

The mask usage was demonstrated duing the workshop.

And voila!

There are a couple more ways recommended by Vichy as well and stated with pretty cute graphics on their brochures. Just drop by any Watsons and pick these brochures up while checking out the sprays at the same time.

This isn't my first time using the spray but I'll save my personal opinion for the next post! Though if you are wondering, isn't a spray just a spray? Then I would say, you're wrong! And I'll explain why.

During the workshop we were also briefly introduced to Vichy's Aqualia Thermal line, a range out for awhile but with a new addition.

Will be talking more about this range after trying out the products enclosed in the goodie bag!

Thanks for reading!
