Hello again!
It has been awhile since I had last updated this space, such that I'm wondering how to best say hello again. Well, I'm not getting sick of blogging, deliberately slacking off it or losing motivation to update. It's just, life happens and I have been a little busy of late, the usual stuff.
Shan't go into detail about that but just so you all know, I'm still blogging and still around! Blogging is something I look to as a hobby and what I spend my spare time doing. Lets just say I haven't had much spare time lately...

In the meantime, I had just finished up on one of the things that kept me slightly preoccupied the past 2 weeks -- the Watsons Tote Bag design!
This is part of a Watsons Live Beautifully facebook event they are running now where a total of 8 Watsons ambassadors will be paired up to showcase a certain theme. I was paired with Karen (renzze.com) to showcase the theme 'Create Beautifully'
With our theme we have to share 4 inspirational posts regarding our concepts/process of creating a Watsons tote bag and with the fourth post, unveil the final design. I'll admit this had taken a good amount of my time and most of it was spent on coming up with the design, the visuals etc rather then doing the design itself.
As the Watsons app has sinced move on to their next week and my past entries can't be vieweed anymore, I've decided to post my bag design here to share it with you all.
Here's my final design:
I recommend briefly reading through my rambly design rational to help better understand how this final design was derived. Though incase it's too lengthy, the two main keypoints I focussed on was Beauty (represented by patchwork) & Nature.
Watsons Tote Bag Design Rationale:
I opted to symbolize nature in a direct manner by incorporating a rose. The rose also gives the bag a soft feminine touch amidst the rugged use of Canvas (mighty durable material!). As for beauty, the rose itself does say so much but I decided to go with my concept of beauty – taking little incomplete and unwanted pieces and putting them together to form a more wholesome product.
This is also where the random marketing idea comes into play. Each petal on the rose uses a different cloth material and my idea would be to get the general public involved in this green tote bag movement by donating some of their unwanted cloth pieces be it curtains, clothes, etc to help power this movement. Hence each tote bag will have a different ‘design’ since the cloth used for the petals will vary. The next exciting thing would be for people to see their donations featured on a tote bag!
And on to more pictures of the bag including some detail close-ups.

And a little random thing but the shoes I'm wearing in the picture above is a new pair that I had gotten from New Look during their recent sale. I love it, plus it's wedges which makes it comfy to walk in (compared to heels) but the strap does 'bite' a little. Oh, what we do for beauty...
The wedges are a navy shade, a little closer to the Watsons photo, not black like in the above 2 photos.

As you might have guessed, Look Beautifully will be the makeup segment and will run for 2 weeks from 9th May - 22nd May. The featured bloggers in this segment will be the lovely Mag (makeupstash) and Sarah (facesbysarah) so don't forget to check that out!

Thank you all again for reading and still sticking with my blog through this busy period of mine (: I would like to promise more entries soon but I know I will be busy for a little while (don't want to make empty promises) though rest assured I will be back!

I like the concept of the rose & the diff petal textures!
