Poll: Do you curl your lashes...

By icyabstract · January 28, 2010 · 21 Comments ·

Do you curl your lashes before applying mascara?
Feel free to elaborate on your choice, why you curl or why you don't in the comments if you wish! (:

My choice: 'Yes'.
I can't apply mascara without curling my lashes! Well I guess I could, but it's something I don't like doing. I find that the curling factor in some mascaras just isn't enough for me. I like my lashes super curved or else my eyes would look incomplete.

I voted for no. I just apply mascara straightaway onto my lashes.

heavenlygorgeous: Wow, you don't have to curl your lashes? That's awesome, how do you keep them curled or make them curl? If I don't curl mine, they just fall limp, but if I curl then it's fine.

everbluec & cocomotion: Yes, same same! Laughing out loud

sometimes i do but mostly no, because my stupid straight eyelashes won't hold a curl! but i need a new eyelash curler, so maybe that's why Sticking out tongue

Hmm, I don't think I could feel secure without curling my lashes first, haha. It'd be rather like.. washing my hair without conditioning - Entirely skippable but I just have to do it for myself. Laughing out loud

liana123: I see.. I'm using the ELF eyelash curler and while that one is quite raved, I find that it's hard to curl the lashes with it. Some lash curlers seem a little resistant and don't curl the lashes as easily.

Anonymous Bosch: Lol, I totally understand what you mean!

amyrleex: Oh, haha. I see. But mascara alone is enough to curl your lashes? Because I have a problem with the mascara's ability to get my lashes looked curled to begin with.

i totally must
i cannt apply mascara untill i hav curled
its just a fixed routine already
no curler, means i wont even apply mascara!
those two go together
and without one, it'll b a lil incomplete!

FacesBySarah: Haha same! Glad someone else feels as strongly about it too! For me it just doesn't feel right putting mascara on uncurled lashes.

Hmmm, certain mascaras just doesnt do it for me and curling is a must!!! but my HG mascara is Baolina's Super Black Mascara(Cool Beauty) with Vitamin E and it curls and voluminizes sufficiently for me...

Yes I have to curl them. Only when I use my contact lens. Can't be bothered if im using my glasses. But right now I try not to use mascara very often because recently i found out using mascara too much esp the water-proof ones can damage the lashes and eventually become thinner. I think that's what happened to mine Sad last time when i first use mascara and curler, the lashes look so nice and full. But now, i notices it looked like fish bones sticking out.

So its in between. Sometimes I just curl my lashes and thats it. It stays curl anyway so i guess I'll pass on mascara this time.

Sara, do you mind if I linked this page to a post I just published? It's on the same vein and I thought this might make for a nice addition. Smiling It'll be posted here, if you agree: http://femininity.onsugar.com/Makeup-Tips---How-Achieve-Perfect-Curl-718... Thanks in advance!

Makeupgeeek: Oh yes same, when I'm wearing glasses I totally skip mascara altogether. Really? I didn't know that mascara was damaging, goodness, thanks for letting me know!

Anonymous Bosch: Not at all, go right ahead (:

I don't know. I always use the SilkyGirl Mascara and it keeps my eyelashes curled up all day long. I tried curling my lashes before and yes, it does make a bit difference. Except that i'm just lazy to curl my lashes. But since the SilkyGirl Mascara did the job for me, so i guess it's fine. Smiling

liana123: Oh I have the Revlon one too, though I haven't tried it out yet.

heavenlygorgeous: Ah I see. Lucky you! My lashes are quite resistant and I have to make them curl else they wouldn't do it on their own. haha.

For me... Last time I really didn't bother.. But then as time goes by and I started to curl my lashes it has slowly become a norm... I have to curl my lashes now if nt I feel like it's incomplete... Hehehehe

linnera: I see. I didn't used to either, at the very start. But after I have experienced the magic of a lash curler, I always went back to it. haha.
