Sephora's in Singapore and it's finally open!
I know most people already know about this since when I went yesterday (which was the grand opening day or whatever it was packed as hell)
I went over at about 8pm or so because I never really intended to go down specifically to check out Sephora but since I was over at a mall near by catching a movie, I thought might as well head down to check it out. So, like I said it was freaking packed and being one who's not big about crowds I was quite iffy about even going into the store but I did anyway since I wanted to check out the selection.
Can I say DISAPPOINTMENT.
Honestly. I was scouting around the store for Urban Decay and NARS solely and I saw nothing of that sort. I went to ask the sales personal and she said they didn't carry it.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
This is Sephora and they don't carry Urban Decay and NARS.
~sigh.
Well, for consolation, they do have Too Faced but still, I was rather disappointed.
And speaking of Too Faced, by the time I had gotten there (which again was pretty darn late), all of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance had been sold out.
Talk about on demand...
Either which, I'm just a little disappointed at what Sephora has to offer right now.
I'll most probably get over it in due time and learn to accept that fact, but for now I would still be shopping at MAC and drugstores.
(Also because I honestly can't deal shopping with crowds)
Thy New Sephora
retail_therapy: Haha yes true. I do hope it'll die out soon once everyone's over the whole novelty factor of it. Oh! And Sasa in Hong Kong carries NARS. How unfair is that! haha. Oh well, yes I do hope they bring those in soon... I really want the the Dolce Vita blush from NARS.
Sasa HK has NARS??? hmmm don't recall seeing NARS at HK sasa.. but there are stand alone NARS stores in HK, and also at FACESSSS at harbour city. HK is just way cooler when it comes to MU, FACESSSSS is amazing, they even have napolean perdis (spelling), and just a whole lot of cool brands but no Urban Decay, boo!
retail_therapy: Aw, nowhere really seems to carry urban decay here in asia... but omg, they have napoleon perdis? That's so cool. I've been wanting to just see that brand in person since s many
people rave about it seems like it's never coming to Singapore. haha.
I heard from someone on yt about HK having NARS. And actually, if you want I think you can order it from the sasa.com website. I'm not sure about shipping and all though. ha, never tried the
whole add-to-cart and then delete thing on that site yet.

i guess the crowd will thin out when it's open for a couple of months. For now it is still a novelty. I remember when Benefit first came to Tangs, you can hardly walk past that area without elbowing someone over but now, there's hardly anyone there, and you can find Benefit everyone. And besides this being the festive season, everyone is just present-buying all the time so Sephora opened at theright time in the midst of this frenzy. What recession???
i am also hoping that perhaps in time to come, Sephora will stock UD and NARS , i think one of their FAQ will be about these 2 brands, hopefully they might kick out some of the MU brands which are not doing well by then and bring in NARS and UD instead. True Colours used to carry NARS but I think that was during my Uni days...which was ages ago and I wasn't a MU freak then.
