Hello everyone, in this post I want to spread the word about Watsons Giftcards.
It's not a very new thing if you follow (or rather 'Like') Watsons on their facebook page, but for those uninformed this may be the best solution if you are fretting over birthday gifts.
Of course giving personal gifts to besties and loved ones are always the best but when it comes to colleagues or acquaintances, this would fit the bill. After all, Watsons carries stuff that cater to men, women, kids and pretty much everyone be it if they were shopping for cosmetics, toiletries, hairdye, snacks etc. The recipient of this will be able to have some practical (or perhaps frivolous) hauling with this card -- everyone's happy!
Upon purchase of the giftcard, you will have to input a minimum value of S$10 within it.
The giftcard comes with a little memo card where you can be personal and write a message to the recipient.
The back of the attached memo card comes with some instructions like the card being usable and that you can top it up once the value runs low. This way the recipient (and you) will be able to understand this giftcard fully.
To answer quick questions:
- The value in the card can be used to pay for any and everything at all Watsons stores, with the exception of Watsons at Changi Airport.
- Value in card cannot be exchanged for cash
- Value in your giftcard is not transferrable to other giftcards and cannot be combined with other giftcards' value
- Last but not least is there an expiration? Well the value will expire if the card has not been used for 12 consecutive months after purchase/top-up
If you have more questions regarding this I'm pretty sure you can drop Watsons a message on their Facebook page and they will get back to you about it. This way others will be able to find out from your query too!
This giftcard is another addition to Watsons' cards, on top of their membership program. While I like shopping for gifts, I feel a little more assured I have something to turn to if all else fails and I can't find suitable gifts in time. It wouldn't count as being insincere to give giftcards, but more of practical, especially if your friend loves shopping at Watsons.
In another scenario, getting a watsons giftcard for yourself is pretty nifty too. It would function like a Watsons 'cashcard' and you'll be able to spend from it without feeling all that bad about sapping from your bank (working some psychology here!).
Thanks for reading!
Disclaimer:
Watsons Giftcard was provided by Watsons, membership card was purchased on my own way back.
All opinions expressed are my own, am not paid for this.
& yeap I totally get what you mean about the Starbucks card too!

i like your idea of making it into a "cashcard". That's what I thought about my Starbucks card too. I can still get my "expensive coffee" even when my budget is low for the month. lol
