Hello makeup geeks. Well, not ripping off the awesome Marlene (makeupgeek) here but in the month of August, Vanity Trove is urging us to embrace the beauty geeks in us with their Rocket Science themed box!
I had given Vanity Trove a mention earlier in the year. It's been awhile since they have made an appearance on here and since then a couple of things have changed.
Unveiled in Vanity Trove
Before I dive into the August box bursting with goodies, let's talk about the website.
There is a new (ish?) tab titled 'Unveiled in Vanity Trove'. This page would list products from current and past Troves and Vanity Trove invites people to sign up and share their experiences with their products! In a way it functions like a review platform for products feature in Vanity Troves and you can hop on over to see if others share the same sentiments or decide if something is worth buying in full (if it came in a sample).
But that is that new thing I wanted to talk about. Let's get on to the Trove now!
A quick sweep through the products left me wondering where the 'Science' part of the theme was at since the products (while a bursting good mix) didn't leave much of a breakthrough impression with me.
Though the informative insert read that Vanity Trove has 'spilled the beans on the latest technology' in beauty pampering so I guess the secret is... the whole secret thing!
Let's give the items a look.
Morilins Facial Therapy Mask - Purifying Balance (1 sheet)
I received the Facial Therapy one for Purfiying and balancing the skin, targeting oily skin. I haven't tried this out and I do have some other Morilins items to try out and give mention to but I shall save that for future Masking Up entries!
Origins Planscription™ Anti-aging Eye Cream (sample - 5ml)
I've heard so much about the latest offerings from Origins and am glad to have a little sample of this to try! Also formulated with the African Anogeissus Tree Bark, Planscription™ Eye Cream is used to provide maximum hydration to the eye area, as well as combat the four signs of aging. I don't know how far this sample can take me with results but I love eye creams and am game to try anything that sounds lusciously hydrating!
Neutrogena Deep Clean Mulberry Foaming Scrub (sample - 15g)
Newly released from Neutrogena, some of us may have seen the refreshing poster ads at bus stops across the island. It's been a long while since I had last visited Neutrogena's skincare items (makeup remover doesn't quite count) and this one looks positively alluring. Promoting results of a brighter and cleaner skin, I can't wait to give my skin a good scrub with this. p.s. – it smells really good too!
Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover (sample - 20ml)
Bioré's Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover sounds adorable and maybe slightly edible. I haven't tried this one out but it does claim some pretty big things such as removing waterproof mascara and containing 1/3 moisturizing essence to nourish and hydrate the skin.
Majolica Majorca Eyes Reset Gel (full size)
This has been out for a good while and I have gone through a tube of this myself. Since it is from the brand Majolica Majorca, needless to say this eye makeup remover is able to do the job of removing Majolica Majorca mascaras. One thing I found with this is that it does blur up the vision if you get it in your eye and while it doesn't sting, it's not very comfortable either. But hey, it works if you're looking for a hardcore mascara / liner remover!
Scottish Fine Soaps Company - Au Lait Bath & Shower Gel (sample - 50ml)
I had not heard of this brand prior but this smells absolutely divine! If your idea of divine is that powdery soft clean scent, that is! I haven't given this use just yet because it's a small cute bottle which means that it gets stashed for travel but I'm definitely searching this brand up.
I know you're probably thinking... is this list ever ending? Almost, we're almost there! But see what I mean by bursting with a variety of products?
Skin79 Super + BB Cream (sample satchet)
This hot pink variant from Skin79 probably needs no introduction. This is one of my favorite BB Creams from the brand and also one of my first few encounters with the BB world that made me take a step towards it once more. It's a pity that it is simply a satchet and good for perhaps one use but for those contemplating this hot favorite, you can now give it a shot.
This product is as straightforward as it gets – Its... a pad! I haven't used it and even then it could be TMI to be sharing all about it but that's what the Unveiled in Vanity Trove is for! Reviews there state that this feels like nothing and is soft to wear. The pad itself comes with a color-changing technology to analyse your health based on... what happens down there. I feel I am bordering TMI so I'll leave it at that but check out the review page to see where you can purchase it.
Brand's Innershine Prune Plus Essence
With an aim to beautify you inside-out, Brand's Innershine Prune Plus Essence is packed with the goodness of prunes to enhance bowel movement (simply put, clearing your system), and also vitamins along with anti-oxidants. As you all know, I don't exactly drink supplements so I passed them to the boy and he's yet to give me his verdict.
Brand's Innershine Berry Essence with Grape Seed Extract
Another supplement for the boy, he must be doing very well with his internal well-being right now! Brand's Innershine Berry Essence with Grape Seed Extract contains exactly what is written in the name – Berries along with Grape Seed Extract! Grape Seed Extract is known to be rich in the cross-linking of collagen and is one of the most potent anti-oxidants available out there. One major plus, according to the boy, is this was really nice but a tad thick though what's to hate about something concentrated?
SAMPAR - Equalizing Foam Peel, Poreless Magic Peel, Glamour Shot (sample)
The last of the Trove would be these SAMPAR products. SAMPAR is another brand that is new to me and reading the product descriptions got me intrigued though the samples attached were a wee bit small in size but oh well. Of the lot, Glamour Shot sounded the most interesting – something you can use pre-makeup to prep your skin. It also has some 'environmental pollution-fending' abilities and can be used over makeup too. Yeap definitely giving that one a shot!
❧
And that is it! I hope you didn't get tired of reading mid-way though I know this post is relatively long. I could just throw on images and sum up the contents but I felt like doing a little intro about each, as much as I can without being rambly that is.
However if you did scroll through, you can always head on over to Unveiled with Vanity Trove to check out proper descriptions and also first-hand experiences with some of the products mentioned here.
Again, Vanity Trove costs S$25 a month (slightly cheaper if you get a subscription) and they now have a 'counter' to let you know the 'closing date' of a certain month's box! Very handy indeed.
I thank them for the great assortment of products within this Trove and it seems the beauty box realm is stepping up once more with all their releases!
Thanks for reading!
