Goodies: CLIO Professional Gelpresso Liners (Swatches of All)

By icyabstract · April 19, 2012 · 2 Comments ·

Hello everyone!

Finally, a time where I'm not nursing a splitting headache or caught up with a thousand and one things to rush or look through. It seems headaches haunt me so frequently of late and they are honestly the worst things ever. I can deal with colds and even a fever but a headache seems to be this huge paralysis to the brain. It renders you totally useless, ugh!

Anyway, this is a post that should have gone up way sooner but sadly, things often jump queue on my blog.

Poor little entries get pushed back but hey, here's me talking about the CLIO Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liners that I received awhile back!

In sheer coincidence, I spotted these at Ngee Ann City's Watsons during the day, swatched them all and was so tempted to pick up that killer purple. In the end I decided 'maybe next time' and lo and behold, I arrive home to a little package from CLIO!

There must be some mind power used in this process!

The colors they sent over are Metalic Silver and Star Purple. From what I have seen, most other bloggers received these two shades too. It could be because they are the shades used in the promo visual which stars the super fierrrrce and gorgeous Lee Hyori.

Though I doubt I would be able to use the above two shades to create a look as stunning as this! Even if I did I might be thinking twice about heading out...

There are 8 shades in total but first let's have a look at the 2 I was provided.

The gel liners glide on very smoothly and I didn't notice any tugging when I swatched it on the back of my hand. The formula felt very creamy and easy to draw-on though this could be due to the fact that it is new.

When swatching the very battered and beat-up testers at the store, I noticed that they felt very creamy still, so maybe the Gelpressos do a pretty good job of retaining it's creamy factor.

I know most cream liners start out like a dream but nearing the end it is inevitable that it starts to dry a little. Hope this holds up well!

The liners do impart some form of shimmer and sparkle to them as well though evidently a whole different sort from their Eye Love You liners. That features a darkened base color with the sparkles being the focus while Gelpresso is an all-round color liner.

According to the CF (commercial) for the liners and the name of it, these Gelpressos are suppose to be gel liners but developed and housed within a pencil format.

I thought that was pretty cool and since these aren't true pencil liners, there is no need to sharpen them! They actually twist-up once you are more or less done with the tip and you can use the enclosed sharpener to retain a fine point again.

I don't know how much of a true gel liner it is but it's pretty nifty that both liquid and gel liners have started taking to pencil forms. They must have figured or realized it's a lot quicker for most people these days instead of fussing with an oddly shaped wand or bringing an extra brush about.

Regardless, I haven't tried this on my eyes just yet but I have always wanted to wear colored liners in this fashion:

Promo visual for Clarin's Summer 2012 Makeup Collection. But yes that's the sort of liner style I've always wanted to try but never did. To date I have only used colored liners on the upper lid above my black liner, so... I will attempt this and let you know!

From my twitpic, here are swatches of the 6 colors that were on display at Ngee Ann City's Watsons.

Top to Bottom: Golden Black / Dark Choco / Beige Shine / Metalic Silver / Star Purple / Chic Navy

I'm loving how Beige Shine looks and would most likely go back and check that out. It looks like it could work as a beautiful base color on the lids too, seeing how creamy these are.

CLIO Professional's Gelpresso Liners retails at S$18.90 at select Watsons outlets
