1 Item Gift-Voucher Haul

By icyabstract · July 27, 2009 · 8 Comments ·

Yet another quick haul entry.
In this post I would be featuring a product that I had purchased from Sasa, which is a beauty store.

Before I talk about the product, let me rant a little by saying that I hardly ever go to Sasa to get anything. Reason being, I don't really like the way the staff there cling on to you and seem overly anxious to educate you or rather brainwash you into thinking you need a certain product. I have no idea how many times I had to say "It's alright, I'll look around on my own" just to get away from one of them, only to unsuccessfully run into another. Even so, they would still surreptitiously eye you from behind shelves and such. So, bottom-line. I don't shop at Sasa and the reason why this was an exception is because I had a gift voucher which was about to expire in a day, so I guess I didn't have a choice.
The funny thing is I've had this voucher for almost a year, and yes it did take me about a year to finally decide to go in there and get something. How sad.

The thing that I had purchased was really unoriginal.

Blush!
I could have gotten so many things, but I guess I just didn't want to bother with it, plus I'm not a huge junkie on experimenting with Japanese makeup brands like BB Creams etc, so I skipped out on those.
Instead, I purchased a mock-MAC brand called Make Up Shop.
I say mock-MAC because if you were to check out their products in-store you would agree with what I say when it comes to packaging and naming their products.
Nonetheless, that wasn't what spurred me to get it.

Of course it's not a surprise it's a blush. If I had to get anything on a whim, it'll definitely be a cheek product.

In the shade M05

Here's a swatch of it.
The blush itself is honestly quite pigmented but since the color itself is a fairly light/natural shade, you wouldn't be able to see it contrasting with my skintone. I know it's a little different for me to pick up a blush as subtle as such but I figured it's nice to get a subtle blush every once in awhile. After all I don't always want to fuss with buffing my blush in when I'm rushing for school.

So I swatched it on the apples of my cheeks and here's how it applies:
(note that it's a very natural/subtle shade so depending on your computer/laptop's graphic card it might not seem like I even have blush on for some of you guys.)

I can definitely see myself subtituting this into a quick everyday makeup routine.
But this still doesn't change my mind about Sasa. I guess I'll only shop there when I get vouchers, haha!

Thanks for reading! <3

The Gift Voucher Haul

By icyabstract · December 3, 2008 · 4 Comments ·

As I had mentioned in one of my previous entries (at least I think I did mention) that I have received a $30 gift voucher for sasa for my birthday.
That was about... 4 or so months ago and until a few days ago I completely did not have anything that I really wanted to get from Sasa.
Not that I don't like what they have, I mean they do sell pretty decent stuff and all but I just am not into the whole japanese/korean/taiwan cosmetics all that much. I own some, but that would be it. I don't watch the famous Taiwan show Nu Ren Wo Zui Da which is meant to be a show where they talk about new/revolutionary beauty products that can either enhance or aid with certain stuff such as eyebrow trimming etc.

But I'm digressing.

What I really want to say is, I went over to Sasa and decided to (as mentioned) get the Duo Eyelash Glue, and since that was about S$14.90 and my vouchers were in tens, I had to either get something else worth about $5.10 or use one voucher and top up $4.90.
In the end I chose to get stuff worth 5.10 and I ended up getting a pair of cheap lashes just to practice on and a pair of tweezers because I didn't want to mix my eyebrow tweezer with my false lash one.
I'm just weird like that. Everything needs to have a purpose and it can't overlap/cross over such as the fact that my bronzer brush cannot be used as a blush brush and my highligher brush can't be used as a blush brush either.
I'm so odd.

Anyway, I'll try false lashes out and tell you guys what I think about it (:
