Not an official review or introduction entry but just because it's the middle of the week, I thought I would treat myself to some simple pampering. In a way, it's almost like telling my body "Come on, 2 more days to go, you can do it!".
I know right, 2nd week at work and I'm this dramatic already.
The items I reached for were 2 I received from Body Shop fairly recently. I haven't had time to put up the proper introduction post about their Spa Fit range yet but here's a casual mention.
The items I chose to indulge in would be the Spa Fit Smoothing and Refining Body Scrub (left) and Toning Massage Oil (right).
I'll get into the specific and details about this collection with the intro post but here's a look at the items!
The scrub was a nice gloopy mix, seemingly made up of varying exfoliants.
The ingredients list doesn't give me a clue as to what the exfoliants are but my (not very well tuned) sense of touch and sight picks out
1) some fruit exfoliant (the dark brown bits)
2) sugar?
3) and while not an exfoliant, bits of fruit pulp.
It spreads and lathers well on the skin and is probably on the milder end of body exfoliants. It doesn't scrub the heck out of your skin but nonetheless it has it's scrubbi-ness and leaves the skin feeling smooth after.
After a nice scrub, there's nothing quite like injecting some moisture back into your skin!
While body lotions are an absolute necessity in (my) life, there are days where I like to do something more therapeutic and knead on massage oils to quench my skin.
Those who aren't typically a fan of massage or body oils might find this Skin Perfect Toning Massage Oil to be a good introduction.
It's fairly liquid and doesn't feel very greasy or even thick on the skin after spreading and massaging it in.
What I particularly like about this is how it starts off with a citrus kick yet immediately soothes to a calm almost ginger-ish spa scent after. It's not a very pronounced scent so you would not smell heavily of it after application (yay to some, nay to some).
Most importantly, I liked the runny texture and I would say you can even use this in the day when your skin is feeling particularly parched - it's that 'light-weight' on. But an oil is still an oil, so it wouldn't disappear upon spreading out.
While I'm not a fan of citrusy scents, I can't deny that these were a deliciously refreshing treat after a day at work. The citrus is just about right to perk you up but not strong or jarring. In fact, the smoothing exfoliator almost has a perfumed scent amidst the citrus. I don't know about you but I likey!
The Spa Fit range will reach Body Shop stores 5th July 9th July (my mistake!). I'll post more information about these (and prices) shortly!
Do you have any mid-week rituals to chase working blues away? Do share!
Thanks for reading!
